How to Draw Funny Monsters

Hey there!  Today I have something a little different, a card I made with a hand drawn image. Ansley recently got her hands on this book I've had forever and we decided to see if we could draw some of the monsters.  I don't think of myself as someone who can draw, but this book makes it really easy!  We got pretty silly and I thought this guy would be perfect for a Halloween card.

Here's the book.  If it makes me look like I might be able to draw than anyone can do it!

I'm playing along at a couple of Halloween challenges:

Update: This card was chosen as the winner of the Pinspired Challenge #20, woot woot!  You can see the post here. How cool is that?

I can't get enough of the Lawn Fawn Into the Woods goodies and I used them to make two different cards from the sketch.

Sending Cheer

Here's a card I made using the Color Me Christmas stamp set from Stampin' Up.  I've been trying my hand a little bit of coloring lately, and it's been fun, although I have a lot of practicing to do.  Practice, practice, practice!

I made this over the weekend using the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments but the challenge deadline got away from me, oops!  Posting him anyway because he's just too cute!  This is the sketch I used:

Pinch Me!

...Because I must be dreaming...

Today I became the October Headliner over at Retro Sketches!  I just about fell out of my chair when Arielle asked me.  I'm super excited to be creating with such an amazing design team at one of my favorite challenges for an entire month, so here goes!

She sketched THIS CARD for this week's challenge.   Here's my retake:

I knew I wanted to use washi tape again and have an element "bursting" out from behind like the original, but it took me a few tries before I decided to see if I could use rows of washi tape and trim them to look like the bricks in a fireplace.  I think that little flame guy on a log is so darn cute, he's perfect for a fireplace.

Here's the sketch this week:

I hope you all play along, I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!  Thanks for stopping by, and keep it crafty!

Beautiful Beginnings Card

Here's a wedding card I made for some friends of mine who are getting married this weekend.  Of course I have procrastinated until just a few days before, but luckily I found some inspiration at the Muse challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

The sentiment is embossed with silver on vellum, it took me a few tries to get a picture that showed how it reflects.  I love silver embossing!

I love the colors in the muse card, so I decided to use Wisteria Wonder, which I rarely do for some reason. I wanted to have some white embossing to mimic the muse card, so I  used strips of white to make a wedding cake, and embossed them each with a different pattern.  I used two kinds of polka dots, and it's perfect for the "going dotty" theme over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.

And here's this weeks Muse card:
